and the nominees are....
here are my entries for the funniest stuff said at my house over the past 2 weeks....
Tait: "Mom, I think I'll just have some cake for lunch"
(2 minutes later I found his birthday cake completely demolished)
Garrett (talking about a boy in his class): "He's not handicapped!! He's smarter than a handicap-- he's been in 1st grade for 2 years!"
Tait: "mom, I just realized that whatever you make is what we have to eat." ( this only took him 6 years to figure out)
Rob: "I would rather crap in a box and mail it to Japan than buy that car" (he was telling this to the tv)
Tanner: "WORD" (apparently that is tanner-speak for thanks.... Sarah had just given him a book that he had forgotten at home. I guess he wanted to be cool in front of his friends)
Tait: "Is this the HOOD?" (listening to Black Eyed Peas on the radio)
other fabulous lines that didnt happen this month:
Tanner: Whats wrong with Sarah's face?
Jaci: What do you mean?
Tanner: It's pretty.
Jaci: Did you like the movie? (Bee Movie)
Garrett: It was rated 'FD'
Jaci: What's that?
Garrett: Freakin' Dumb!

President Hinckley
In memory of the passing of our dear Prophet, I thought that I would send this picture along to all of you. Dad received this from the High Counsel at Christmas and I think it is a great protrayal of his personality. I've been thinking that we would loose him soon, as he has become more frail, but I will still miss him. I don't know who your favorite prophets are, but I grew up with Pres. McKay, so I've always loved him. Then later Pres. Kimball, with his raspy voice touched my heart. I remember after his throat surgery when he joked about falling among cutthroats. But I'm not sure anyone can replace Pres. Hinckley. I have felt closer to him and like he was actually someone I knew. He had a gentleness and a quick sense of humor that we could all relate to. I'm not sure if I sent any of you the clip of him at conference when Pres. Eyring (?) was put in, and how Pres. H. 'knighted' him. I am so sad at his passing , but know that I have learned great things from him. I even managed to barely finish the BOM last year on time, after his challenge to do so before the end of the year. I think we take having a living prophet for granted. But if nothing else, my last year of total stress teaching RS out of the conference talks , probably taught me more and gave me a greater appreciation for just that. President Monson has some pretty big shoes to fill, and as much as I love him, he's not Gordon B.
Okay, remember a year ago January, when I posted the cute picture
of all the mommies to be, well here is the results . . . .with the exception
of Marce & Whit. This bright idea didn't come to me until AFTER they
had left. Dangit. notice how cute Grandma is. Also, please note how much
cuter MY grandchildren are than all the others. Okay, Alana is pretty cute.
We were over at her house tonight with Josh& fam, Amber & fam, plus
Silly Sanwan, David, Louise, Billiam, Marie, Doyle, Kyle, Carma, Ad & AJ
and of course Ginger. Grandma just loves having all the kids there. Dresden
figured out that if you keep pushing the buttom on the Uno Attack, that it
will keep shooting out cards, to his great delight. This kept Berlyn at a fever
pitch of excitment and busy trying to keep the cards picked up and put back
into the dispenser. I'm pretty sure her squeal even hurt the dogs ears. But
it never fazed grandma, she just giggled all night.
St. Louis trip
As I sit here going through and cleaning off the SD card for my camera, I realized that I had never posted this cute picture. Soooo, here it is.
***Hi all, Ang here--that picture is gross (of me) so I did an "artists rendition", broke into the post and replaced the photo with this work of art. You're welcome.

Halle's Playmate
For any of you who don't know my cat's personality, I will just say that she no-likey the kids. She runs and hides from all persons under 5 feet tall. So what you are about to see is an amazing sight... For some reason Halle can poke her in the ears, eyes and nose, pull her tail and ears off, and smack her repeatedly on the head and the cat never runs away. Its pretty funny. This video is not of the violence.... (I didnt want to see this on CNN tomorrow) It's just Halle playing with her.
oh yeah... the video is too long. so about halfway through you can turn it off. :)

the joys of boys...
I have often wondered why my boys like junk so much. who knows? But if you can't eat it, don't want it, if it's broken or can give your tetanus, then you are sure to find it in Tanner or Garrett's "Collection". Usually there is much crying and carrying-on when I gather the "collection" up and put it in its rightful place (the trashcan) but today everyone is at school....:) This is some of the rad stuff I found in Tanner's "collection". Maybe you can play "Eye-Spy"!
emply sandwich baggie. 2 popsicle sticks glued together. pink plastic cap. ring from a milk jug. innards of a pen. gold thingy. round battery. broken piece of plastic. pink bead. red berry. piece of a broken blue cup. baby sock. silver wire connector. random molded plastic. 2 rocks. 3 pieces of black yarn. price tag. peanut. 'stripped' hot wheels car. candy/gum wrappers. torn bits of paper. shirt tag. 6 pencils without tops. 2 rubber bands. pieces of a broken blue balloon. twig. 6 pencil tops (in perfectly good condition...why were they removed?) broken white balloon (was once a balloon animal) 2 broken rubber bands. brown wire from a fake flower. plastic coated wire tie. rusty beer cap. 2 bread ties. wad of used tape. broken pencil. broken crayon pieces. army guy missing a foot. 4 chunks of eraser.
did I miss anything? I can assure you that this is all very valuable... send check or money order now!

One-Liners
After talking to Jaci, I've decided we all need to start posting all the funny and bizarre stuff our kids/spouses say. That way we have plenty of ammo for making fun of each other. I'll start:
Last week, Tye said totally casually and out of the blue, "I'd have no problem sawing my arm off." (apparently he had just seen a commercial for some wilderness-survival show).
The other night I was walking out of the bathroom after applying a purifying face mask and passed Tye in the hallway.
As we pass he says, "Your lotion isn't rubbed in."
I say, "It's not lotion, it's a mask."
He goes, "PPfshh, it's not a very good mask. I can still see your face."
Sometimes these classics pop into my brain and make me laugh:
Marci in the drive-thru at Wendy's: "You DON'T have any ARBY SAUCE!?!?"
Conversation between AJ and Lauren:
AJ: "Do you like Smashing Pumpkins?"
Lauren: "Ya, it's pretty fun."
Mom:
"Hogues, you little shits!"
Everyone be sure to post all the crazy stuff you hear each other say on a daily basis. Maybe at the end of the year we'll have like the Academy Awards of One-Liners and we can give prizes for the funniest, most clever, etc.

Happy 1st Birthday Dresden
Just a few pics of our kids playing at the "Fiesta Fun Center" for a night out on Dresden's Birthday. He has become such a big boy and never ceases to amaze us. His new thing has been a 'mimic stage' where he likes to repeat what we (especially Berlyn) do or say. His favorite is mama and dada...which we eat up of course. What a character and happy little boy...he always puts a smile on our face.

Monkeyin' Around
This is Whit's awesome mohawk after the tub.
My favorite Christmas Pose with the cute Santa Slippers!
Whit loved riding this horse. He looked pretty happy.
Whit and Halle play together pretty good.
On New Year's Eve, we went to a party with some friends and they own the zoo, so they have a pet Orangatang that they brought with them. She was the life of the party, but she sure did like to swing on everything including Jake. We couldn't get her off of him. Atleast she's pretty cute.
Whit like playing in the Jungle gym.
He also really liked the Monkey.
